OVERVIEW

The Junior Financial Analyst prepares and delivers reporting and analytic support for the Financial Planning & Analysis group.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for various weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual productivity reports and variance analyses for executive management team members;
  • Runs SQL queries and Elite reports to compile data and produce reporting, including:
    • Business Development statistics for pitch books, the Firm website and related materials;
    • Lawyer and Legal Assistant hours reports;
    • Tracking and analysis of client alternative fee arrangements;
    • Data requests from clients related to diversity and inclusion;
    • Pro Bono reporting;
  • Updates and maintains various databases utilized by other departments to ensure data accuracy and consistency;
  • Collaborates with the IT department to support the implementation and ongoing use of the Partner Dashboard and business intelligence tools;
  • Provides support on various special projects, as assigned;
  • Handles ad hoc requests, as required; and
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or math required.
  • 2-3 years related work experience. Law firm experience a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with partners and staff at all levels;
  • Ability to deal discreetly with confidential information;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with the ability to organize, analyze and present data accurately;
  • Working knowledge of SQL, SQL Server Management Studio and reporting tools;
  • Knowledge of Elite 3E preferred;
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to support reporting needs for partners and staff;
  • Strong organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills;
  • Must have strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to work well under pressure, coordinate several activities at once and meet strict deadlines; and
  • Availability to work additional hours, as needed.

This position is located in our New York office, and currently has a hybrid work schedule, but that is subject to change. The hours for this position are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, Monday through Friday. The estimated salary range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered.
