OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to function as a trusted advisor to leadership and a translator between business vision and technical execution. This role ensures every initiative is built on a foundation of clear business needs, measurable results, and stakeholder buy-in.

From streamlining critical workflows to enabling cutting-edge technology adoption, this role directly enhances client service, operational efficiency, and the Firm’s long-term success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Requirements Development

  • Leads end-to-end business analysis efforts for high-impact projects, from initial concept through delivery;
  • Elicits requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, document analysis, and workflow observations;
  • Translates business needs into clear, concise, and testable functional and non-functional requirements;
  • Develops and maintains business process models, use cases, and user stories to guide development and testing.

Solution Definition & Validation

  • Partners with stakeholders to assess business problems, define scope, and develop solution options;
  • Works closely with technical teams to ensure proposed solutions meet business requirements and align with strategic objectives;
  • Facilitates requirements walkthroughs, obtaining formal sign-off from stakeholders before development begins;
  • Supports user acceptance testing (UAT) by defining acceptance criteria and assisting in defect triage.

Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Acts as the primary point of contact between the PMO, IT teams, and business units for requirements-related discussions;
  • Builds strong relationships with key stakeholders (e.g., legal, technology, finance, and operational teams) to ensure collaboration and alignment;
  • Anticipates stakeholder needs and proactively identifies opportunities for improvement or automation.

Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyzes operational data, workflows, and performance metrics to uncover inefficiencies and recommend enhancements;
  • Prepares business cases, ROI analyses, and requirements traceability matrices to support decision-making;
  • Creates clear, executive-ready documentation and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.

Governance, Standards & Continuous Improvement

  • Champions the adoption of business analysis best practices, templates, and tools across the PMO;
  • Identifies opportunities to improve requirements-gathering processes for greater efficiency and accuracy, and

Performs other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required;
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity;
  • Experience in professional services or legal industry environments strongly preferred;
  • Proven expertise in requirements elicitation, business process mapping, and solution design in complex, cross-functional environments;
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) and the software development lifecycle (SDLC);
  • Proficiency in requirements management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and MS Office Suite (advanced Excel, Visio, PowerPoint);
  • Exceptional analytical, facilitation, and documentation skills with high attention to detail;
  • Strong stakeholder management abilities, with experience influencing senior leaders and managing competing priorities;  and
  • Availability to work additional hours, as needed.


This position is located in our New York office, and currently has a hybrid work schedule, but that is subject to change. The estimated salary range for this position is $140,000 to $175,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered.
