OVERVIEW

The Knowledge Management Systems Administrator helps to identify, evaluate, adopt, implement and support best-in-class technology tools to enable knowledge-sharing throughout the Firm.  Responsible for the front-end administration of technology solutions for the Knowledge Services department related to experience management, document management, enterprise search, and request tracking systems. Provides support to anyone using the Knowledge Service’s Foundation database. Liaises and coordinates with IT to manage technical implementation and upgrade projects and to facilitate back-end administration of all knowledge management systems and tools. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as functional business owner and front-end administrator of all knowledge management applications;
  • Provides or coordinates primary technical support for knowledge management applications and systems, including roll-outs, maintenance, and upgrades;
  • Keeps internal teams abreast of upcoming technical changes, upgrades and issues that will have an impact on users or support teams;
  • Carefully tracks and articulates user issues, and formulates and documents requirements for changes and additions to the Firm’s systems as they relate to knowledge management;
  • Creates project roadmaps, and utilizes project management protocols and standards to execute projects, including project planning, budgeting, documentation, calendaring, defining and measuring KPIs, and monitoring progress and success;
  • Stays abreast of emerging and leading technology for law firm knowledge management and related disciplines;
  • Assists with communication and training efforts to improve awareness and effective use of knowledge management systems;
  • Maintains documentation related to policies, procedures and escalation of issues for all knowledge management databases and systems;
  • Assists with onboarding new users in Knowledge Services, Business Development and other departments to Foundation database, providing training, best practices and ongoing support; and
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or appropriate work experience required;
  • 1-2 years of experience supporting law firm knowledge management applications, or administering or developing database systems is desired;
  • Familiarity with experience management systems (Foundation), document management systems, enterprise search, and other knowledge management tools typically used by law firms a plus;
  • Familiarity with relational databases, including SQL, and web-based programming languages, including HTML, JavaScript, PHP, etc.;
  • Familiarity with User Interface (UI) or User Experience (UX) design principles preferred;
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills, and exceptional attention to detail;
  • High degree of technical proficiency, including with Microsoft Office and other consumer applications, and the ability to learn new software applications quickly;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization in a professional manner;
  • Strong client service skills, with the ability to promptly respond to incoming requests in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong written communication skills, including technical writing and end-user documentation skills;
  • Able to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at one time;
  • Able to work collaboratively with co-workers;
  • Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion; and
  • Ability to work overtime, as needed.

This position is located in our New York office, and currently has a hybrid work schedule, but that is subject to change. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The estimated salary range for this position is $62,000 to $75,000 plus overtime. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered.
