OVERVIEW

The Publications Coordinator will support all aspects of the publication review and submission process for Firm-authored content, including articles, chapters and client memos. The role will involve close collaboration with authoring and reviewing attorneys, the Office of the General Counsel and the wider Business Development Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the publication review and submission process from start to finish, acting as a first-stop repository for all authored content that requires clearance for publication;
  • Maintain ownership of review workflow, including:
    • Communicating with authors around submission requirements, publication agreements, deadlines and proofreading;
    • Sending articles to the Office of the General Counsel for conflict checks and strategizing around necessary outreach to partners based on the results of these reports;
    • Sending articles for review by relevant partners; and
    • Submitting finalized content and other required materials to publishers.
  • Lead efforts to create a tracking system for publications, and track authored content as it moves through the review and submission process, including current stage of review, outstanding approvals and upcoming deadlines, and subsequently through publication;
  • Maintain and enhance other publication-related record-keeping systems, including in connection with author agreements, licensing and reprints;
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with high academic standing;
  • At least 2-3 years of work experience. Working at or with publications is a plus, as is experience with compliance-related processes;
  • Extraordinary attention to detail and focus on accuracy;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Creative and solution-oriented mindset, with interest in improving efficiency and streamlining processes;
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines;
  • Ability to exercise a high level of judgment and discretion;
  • Comfortable working on projects that involve a large volume of information and numerous moving parts;
  • Comfortable working independently as well as with individuals across departments and levels of seniority; and
  • Availability to work overtime, as needed.

 

This position is located in our New York office, and currently has a hybrid work schedule, but that is subject to change. The hours for this position are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, Monday through Friday. The estimated salary range for this position is $65,000 to $80,000 plus overtime. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered.
