OVERVIEW

The Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Analyst is a key player in keeping the Firm prepared. This role works closely with department heads across the Firm to conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) and update Business Continuity Plans to identify critical processes and dependencies, and recommend strategies to keep operations running smoothly. The Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Analyst also coordinates BC/DR projects, conducts training and awareness programs, and supports crisis communication planning. 

 

On the IT side, this role helps update disaster recovery documentation and coordinate the testing of recovery plans for critical systems to ensure they meet industry standards and compliance requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Continuity:

  • Collaborates with department heads to conduct annual Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) to identify critical business functions, systems, and third-party dependencies;
  • Develops, maintains, and updates Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), ensuring alignment with the Firm’s operational needs and regulatory requirements;
  • Helps to execute BC/DR projects, recommending and implementing recovery strategies to strengthen Firm resilience; and
  • Works with various operational teams to align continuity initiatives, incident response and crisis communication procedures.

Disaster Recovery:

  • Develops and maintains disaster recovery (DR) plans for critical IT systems, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and recovery objectives;
  • Coordinates IT disaster recovery testing, conducts After Action Reviews and helps to implement improvements based on lessons learned;
  • Works with the IT DR Committee to coordinate meetings, training and recovery planning efforts;
  • Evaluates system changes for DR impact, documenting recovery plans and maintaining compliance with RPOs and RTOs through regular testing; and
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. Project Management, Business Continuity and Crisis Communications certifications a plus;
  • Ideally 3-5 years of related professional experience with at least 1-3 years in a Business Continuity or related area;
  • Knowledge and understanding of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery principles;
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills;
  • Must be highly organized and possess excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and staff to gather and translate continuity requirements and formulate recovery solutions;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at one time;
  • A strong sense of focus and excellent attention to detail;
  • Must be available for emergency situations and escalations; and
  • Availability to work overtime, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially for emergencies and escalations, as needed.

 

This position is located in our New York office, and currently has a hybrid work schedule, but that is subject to change. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 plus overtime. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered.
