OVERVIEW

The Practice Management Coordinator supports the Firm’s Practice Managers with tasks related to the associate experience and attorney professional development, including but not limited to rotations, work allocation, in-office engagement, reviews, and advisor and mentor programs. This role also works across the Legal Personnel department to manage and/or support various projects and workstreams that relate to the Firm’s attorney population and their experience and development, as needed. The ideal candidate will know how to meet the Firm’s standards of excellence in supporting our attorney teams and ensure consistency or thoughtful differentiation between various departments within the Firm in order to effectively support each practice’s objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides support with resource allocation and productivity management, coordinating staffing reports to determine workflow capacities and flagging potential staffing issues or opportunities;
  • Facilitates the associate review process, including by preparing and updating materials, coordinating communications with associates and tracking deadlines and action items;
  • Drafts, edits and maintains necessary checklists, calendars, organizational charts, spreadsheets and documents related to professional development and other associate matters;
  • Executes logistics related to rotations including communications to attorneys;
  • Coordinates relevant materials and communications for partner mentor and associate advisor programs;
  • Prepares materials for departmental partner meetings;
  • Responsible for aspects of attorney seating, including partnering with Practice Managers to implement a strategic approach to office assignments and communications;
  • Coordinates practice group meetings, including preparing agendas and compiling necessary materials;
  • Engages with partners and associates to gather information on related matters, as needed;
  • Engages with partner leadership on associate matters, policies and programs; 
  • Engages with other administrative departments at the Firm to obtain relevant information and data;
  • Synthesizes and analyzes data related to professional development and other associate initiatives;
  • Provides general support on ad-hoc Legal Personnel projects; and
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required;
  • At least 3-5 years of related professional services experience required, large law firm or corporation experience preferred;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Proofreading and auditing skills;
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint and Excel;
  • Demonstrates good judgment and strong interpersonal skills;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ability to take and follow instructions, as well as project and task manage;
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines, prioritize and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to deal discreetly with confidential information;
  • Motivation to learn and ability to adapt to change;
  • Must be team oriented; and
  • Ability to work additional hours, as needed.

 

This position is located in our New York office, and currently has a hybrid work schedule, but that is subject to change. The estimated salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered.
