OVERVIEW

The Litigation Business Development Coordinator will work and collaborate with the Director of Litigation Business Development, the Litigation Business Development Manager and fellow teammates to create and implement litigation-specific business development and marketing initiatives at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts daily research using numerous internal and external databases to monitor news and current events, potential and actual litigation, real-time financial information and industry trends to identify new business opportunities with existing and prospective clients;
  • Assists with drafting, editing and proofreading bespoke pitch materials and responses to RFPs in various formats, including suggesting organization for the material, editing language to fit the opportunity, tailoring attorney team bios, and selecting the most relevant matters to highlight for inclusion;
  • Applies strong reasoning and analytical skills to prepare in-depth background research and analysis for partners concerning business targets in a variety of industries;
  • Maintains and updates litigation practice areas text, case descriptions and litigation partner biographies for Firm materials and on the Firm’s external website;
  • Records, updates and maintains business development activity in internal databases;
  • Assists with case tracking on dockets and in litigation filings;
  • Assists with the development and execution of Firm business development-related programs and events, as well as strategic initiatives for new business opportunities;
  • Responds to varied requests and inquiries from litigation partners regarding business development opportunities and initiatives; and
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Marketing, English or Communications;
  • Preferably 0-2 years of office work experience in a professional environment that involved substantive writing responsibilities, preferably in the marketing or legal field. A minimum commitment of 2 years to the position is required;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint preferred;
  • Knowledge of litigation terminology and practice areas such as general commercial, securities, antitrust, and intellectual property and regulatory investigations is preferred;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Exceptional editing and proofreading skills;
  • Must have an articulate and professional demeanor;
  • Must have an extremely detail-oriented work manner;
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and complete assignments in an accurate and timely manner;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise a high standard of judgment and discretion;
  • Must be comfortable and enthusiastic about working as part of a team; and
  • Ability to work overtime, including nights and weekends, as needed.

 

This position is located in our New York office, and currently has a hybrid work schedule, but that is subject to change. The hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000 plus overtime. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered.
