OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly technical, dynamic leader to help guide our core infrastructure team. This team is responsible for building, configuring, and maintaining critical IT systems, including Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft cloud services, physical and virtual servers, virtual desktops, load balancers, network storage, and backups.

 

In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise and leadership skills to ensure seamless day-to-day operations, while driving the migration of on-premises services to the cloud. Success in this role requires a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment and brings a proactive approach to managing complex IT systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Infrastructure Projects: Manages projects to migrate legacy on-premise services to the cloud, such as OneDrive, Entra ID, Intune, Auto Patch and Windows Hello;
  • Infrastructure Operations:
    • Oversees the design, implementation, operation, and optimization of critical IT systems, including Microsoft Active Directory, Azure, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, VMware, and network storage;
    • Proactively manages server patching, compliance, monitoring, and data protection strategies to maintain 24/7 operational availability and robust security practices;
    • Continuously improves system performance and reliability, while delivering world-class user experiences;
    • Leads the resolution of complex technical issues, leveraging advanced troubleshooting skills to ensure system reliability and minimal downtime;
  • Develop a High-Performing Team: Mentors and leads a technical team, ensuring professional growth and technical excellence. Fosters a collaborative and innovative team culture;
  • Drive Innovation and Efficiency: Develops automation tools, scripts, and solutions to streamline IT operations and improve service delivery;
  • Collaborate: Acts as a key liaison for technical needs across departments;
  • Document and Standardize Processes: Establishes and maintains system documentation, operating procedures, and business continuity plans; and,
  • Performs other duties, as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience); Industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft, VMware) are a plus;
  • 8+ years managing enterprise IT infrastructure, including migrating services to cloud and 1+ years leading technical teams in high-stakes environments;
  • Advanced proficiency in systems such as Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Citrix CVAD, VMware, and network storage solutions. Strong skills in scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) and process automation;
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to design infrastructure strategies that align with business objectives while adapting to a fast-paced, dynamic environment;
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: A track record of resolving critical IT challenges and optimizing system performance;
  • Focus on Security: In-depth knowledge of IT security best practices, including multi-factor authentication, certificate management, and compliance requirements;
  • Will participate in off-hour on-call rotation; and
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed, including nights and weekends.

This position is located in our New York office, and currently has a hybrid work schedule, but that is subject to change. The estimated salary range for this position is $170,000 to $200,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered.
