OVERVIEW

The Diversity & Inclusion Assistant provides project and administrative support to the Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer, as well as other members of the Firm’s Diversity & Inclusion department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with a wide variety of administrative responsibilities including filing, answering and screening telephone calls, taking messages as appropriate, drafting e-mails and documents, and scheduling meetings;
  • Responds to inquiries from legal and administrative staff and directs to appropriate team member(s) to handle, as necessary;
  • Provides assistance with internal and external diversity-related programming, including Women’s Initiative and affinity group programming;
  • Assists with coordinating diversity-related programming, including programming that satisfies the Diversity, Inclusion and Elimination of Bias CLE requirement, heritage month programming and DEI trainings;
  • Supports the Firm’s diversity recruitment efforts;
  • Assists with administering department events, including the use of event management tools;
  • Attends diversity-related events, as needed;
  • Keeps abreast of developments as they relate to D&I efforts in the legal profession; and
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • 1+ years of applicable administrative work experience preferred;
  • Must have the ability to work and interact with attorneys and administrative professionals at all levels;
  • Excellent organization and communication skills, in addition to superior judgment;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at one time;
  • Capable of solving problems and meeting deadlines;
  • Ability to deal discreetly with confidential information; and
  • Availability to work overtime, as needed.

 

This position is located in our New York office. The hours for this position are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The estimated salary range for this position is $55,000 to $70,000 plus overtime. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered.
