OVERVIEW

The Financial Analyst provides high-level analytic and reporting assistance to the Financial Planning & Analysis group.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with financial modeling, forecasting, variance analysis and data interpretation of business impacts;
  • Assists in preparation, organization and distribution of Firm Revenue and strategic planning models to COO, Department Heads and Practice Leads;
  • Responsible for various weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual productivity reports for executive management team members;
  • Assists in handling ad hoc requests from executive management team and administrative departments (for example, Legal Personnel, Human Resources, Business Development, Paralegal Administration, etc.);
  • Assists in preparing and updating revenue and expense allocations for profitability model;
  • Works cooperatively with IT and outside vendors/consultants on implementing, testing and supporting Partner Portal Dashboard, testing query results and data upkeep for business intelligence tools; and
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or math required; MBA a plus;
  • Law firm experience a plus;
  • 4+ years related work experience, preferably in a legal or other professional services environment;
  • Excellent judgment and ability to deal discreetly with confidential information;
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills and ability to synthesize numerical data and metrics effectively;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize projects and accomplish objectives within specific deadlines;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at once;
  • Must be detail-oriented and great at problem solving;
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required;
  • Experience with MS SQL a plus;
  • Working knowledge of other systems used is a plus, such as: Elite 3E Billing System, MS Word, SQL Server Management Studio, SSRS Reports, iManage, Outlook, Webex, Adobe Acrobat;
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines; and
  • Availability to work additional hours, as needed.

 

This position is located in our New York office, and currently has a hybrid work schedule, but that is subject to change. The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 to $130,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered.
