OVERVIEW

The Litigation Business Development Analyst will work with the Litigation Business Development team to create and implement litigation-specific business development and marketing initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts daily research using internal and external databases to monitor news and current events, potential and actual litigation, real-time financial information and industry trends to identify new business opportunities with existing and prospective clients;
  • Prepares, edits and proofreads bespoke pitch materials in various formats, including suggesting organization for the material, editing language to fit the opportunity, tailoring attorney team bios, and selecting the most relevant experience to highlight for inclusion;
  • Applies strong reasoning and analytical skills in preparing and responding to requests for in-depth background research and analysis for attorneys concerning business targets in a variety of industries;
  • Responds to varied requests and inquiries from litigation attorneys regarding business development opportunities and initiatives, as well as provides preliminary support to Litigation Business Development Coordinators on responses as needed;
  • Maintains and updates litigation case descriptions and litigation partner biographies for Firm materials and on the Firm’s external website;
  • Records, updates and maintains business development activity in internal databases;
  • Assists with case tracking based on dockets and in litigation filings;
  • Assists with the development and execution of Firm business development-related programs and events, as well as strategic initiatives for new business opportunities;
  • Works with Litigation Business Development Manager to maintain and improve team processes and efficiencies;
  • Serves as a first-level review for material drafted by Litigation Business Development Coordinators, and otherwise proactively assists Litigation Business Development Manager on assignments as needed; and
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Marketing, English or Communications;
  • Preferably 2-4 years of office work experience in a professional environment that involved substantive writing responsibilities, preferably in the marketing or legal field;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required;
  • Knowledge of litigation terminology and practice areas such as antitrust, intellectual property, general commercial, investigations and securities is strongly preferred;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Exceptional editing and proofreading skills;
  • Exceptional ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments, and to work independently and proactively on assigned Business Development tasks;
  • Must have demonstrated team leadership capabilities, and be comfortable and enthusiastic about working as part of a team;
  • Must take initiative and be proactive in communicating about assignments with a high standard of judgment;
  • Must have an articulate and professional demeanor;
  • Must have an extremely detail-oriented work manner;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and complete assignments in an accurate and timely manner;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise a high standard of judgment and discretion; and
  • Availability to work overtime, as needed.

This position is located in our New York office, and currently has a hybrid work schedule, but that is subject to change. The hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, Monday through Friday.  The estimated salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 plus overtime.  The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered.
